Achieving Cultural Change

Implementing innovative treatment programmes can be challenging within environments which are not used to delivering complex psychological interventions and where staff lack in-depth psychological knowledge.  However, failure to address culture change ‘head on’ can mean the difference between success or failure when services attempt to implement new interventions.

All PDMH consultants are highly experienced in addressing organisational dynamics to achieve the kind of culture shift that is necessary to support the delivery of treatment and will be able to support your organisation in moving towards a more therapeutically supportive milieu.   PDMH consultants have experience of evaluating and changing the cultures within diverse settings such as segregation units, supported hostels, psychiatric in patient services (open, low, medium and high secure) and prison wing locations.  PDMH Consultancy will work with organisations to assist in identifying counter-therapeutic dynamics, beliefs and policies and provide advice regarding strategies that will assist in achieving significant cultural change.  PDMH Consultancy can help implement these strategies if desired.
